ECHA Conference 2024 Thessaloniki

Lineke van Tricht and Birgit Broekhoven attended the 19th ECHA Conference in Thessaloniki. It was a very inspiring week with participants from 40 countries.

Lineke presented the second study of her PhD research on the motivation of gifted students from low socioeconomic backgrounds, which was positively received by the audience. Birgit presented the Erasmus+ project Equity in Gifted Education, together with our partners Marlies Tierens (Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, Belgium) and Adnan Hoxha (Heimerer College, Kosovo). It was great to experience that so many people are interested in this topic: The room was full and people had to stand because all seats were taken.

We were very proud that Colm O’Reilly, the newly installed president of ECHA Europe, mentioned the project in his keynote. This strengthens us in our mission to improve opportunities in gifted education for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
